Last night, a customer waltzed into the store where I work. He was a well-dressed, giddy older gentleman (I use this term loosely, for I was deceived; looks really aren’t everything) with an indistinct accent & flamboyant character. At one point during our brief discourse, he told me about the birthmark on one of his ballsacks. He then went on to describe his doctor’s appointment and the anxiety that overwhelmed him when the dermatologist mentioned it may turn into something malignant. Then again, he concluded, he’s had it since childhood and it’s not like it was ever exposed to the sun…
His wife is the only one to have known about this alleged birthmark (as well as the doctor, I suppose in retrospect, for he failed to mention this in his telling), and now I too hold the secret. The stranger was in his mid-sixties.
